Our TREATMENTS
Traditional braces have been around for a long time, and they're probably the most recognizable treatment option in Smyrna and the surrounding area.
At Evergreen Orthodontics, metal braces continue to be the top orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages. Dr. Lotz has successfully treated and fixed all kinds of oral issues using these orthodontic workhorses. Modern braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive. Metal braces are built from high-grade stainless steel and are the most common type of braces you'll see. Brackets are bonded to the front of each tooth and connect to one another by an archwire, helping to guide your teeth where Dr. Alena Lotz wants them to move.
Evergreen Orthodontics is proud to offer clear braces to our patients in Smyrna, Atlanta, and surrounding areas! Also referred to as ceramic braces, tooth-colored braces, or aesthetic braces, clear braces work the same way metal braces do.
These ceramic options blend in well with your natural smile. Though they're not completely invisible, and the brackets are about the same size and shape, they're much less noticeable than metal braces. Ceramic braces offer patients a discreet treatment option, but, they can sometimes be slightly more fragile and more expensive than metal braces. Because of this, Dr. Lotz typically recommends them for older teen and adult patients.
Our clear braces at Evergreen Orthodontics are designed to be less noticeable on your teeth than metal braces. They're smaller than ever and made of nearly invisible tooth-colored polycrystalline ceramic material.Dr. Lotz and her team at Evergreen Orthodontics look forward to serving you in Smyrna and the surrounding communties.

Clear aligner treatment with Dr. Alena Lotz and the team at Evergreen Orthodontics can give you beautiful, straight teeth without braces. Clear Aligners, like invisalign, are a great choice for our patients Smyrna and the surrounding communities
Clear aligners systems (like Invisalign) are made of clear, lightweight plastic trays that fit over your teeth and are designed to align your teeth and improve your bite. Although the process looks and feels different from traditional braces, the outcome will be the same! The best part is because they are removable, you can eat what you want to eat, drink what you want to drink, and brush and floss normally.
Clear aligners tend to be more comfortable than traditional braces because there is less irritation of the lips and gums. Additional benefits include the ability to remove the aligners for special events and pictures, fewer visits to our office, and no emergency visits!
The best way to keep your teeth from shifting after treatment is to wear your retainers as prescribed. Dr. Alena Lotz will recommend how long to continue wearing your retainers, whether they are removable (the kind you put in and take out) or fixed (bonded behind your teeth).
Wearing your retainers as prescribed by Dr. Lotz is the best way to keep your teeth from moving after your orthodontic treatment. There are many reasons teeth may move following orthodontic treatment. Teeth are not set in concrete, they’re in bone.Because the bone around your teeth is continually changing (breaking down and rebuilding), your teeth may shift after your braces are removed. By wearing your retainers, your teeth are more likely to remain where Dr. Lotz has placed them through braces treatment.
Early treatment at Evergreen Orthodontics may prevent or intercept more serious problems from developing and may make treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated. In many cases, Dr. Lotz will be able to achieve results that may not be possible once the face and jaws have finished growing.
While the age that kids get braces may vary, orthodontic treatment at Evergreen Orthodontics often begins between 9 and 14, because some orthodontic problems are easier to correct if they’re treated early. If Dr. Lotz thinks your child will need treatment, she’ll let you know when it will be best to begin treatment.
